RÉSUMÉ INSPECTION
Each time you create a version of your résumé it seems
there is a reason to revise it. Sometimes a prospective employer causes you
to consider changing, deleting or adding a small piece. Sometimes an advisor
suggests a revision you hadn’t considered before, which just might make a
significant difference.
In
today’s electronically sophisticated environment, there is nothing wrong with
various versions for various reasons, as long as you have a method to keep
track of where each is sent.
During the résumé inspection, ideas are shared, different styles exhibited,
variations are reviewed and everyone leaves enriched by the experience. This
is the time to practice the oral résumé and share the written résumé … and
receive positive, helpful feedback to improve both. It is a time to encourage
and be encouraged.
·
What does
one do if they think their résumé might need a few improvements?
·
If still
not comfortable with an oral résumé, where can one go to get help?
·
Is it
possible that others might be able to help improve both résumés?
“Let us not give up meeting together, as some
are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another…”
Hebrews
10:25
“Stop listening
to instruction, my son, and you will stray from the words of knowledge.”
Proverbs
19:27
